We were tasked with the creation of a new website that would be easily navigated by two vastly different consumers. Experts in the fields of waste management and individual consumers who are dealing with the stresses of homeownership.

Our major UX challenge was ensuring a simple and usable experience for two vastly different consumers with different end goals. Our primary consumer, whose knowledge of the company’s offerings was exceptional, needed a quick and easy way to place orders and contact the company regarding scheduling. The secondary consumer was more focused on information and immediate and emergency waste management solutions.
We found that for our industry/business consumers needed us to provide quick and easy access to solutions with the ability to contact the company directly or schedule a time to pick up waste. We took steps to recreate the request form that had been a paper sheet for 20 years. Since we found most consumers to be set in their ways, we needed to work directly with the users to make sure the request form was as simple and easy to use as the paper form they had been using previously. We were able to increase the online usage of that form and still providede a direct contact to the company for those consumers that were too stubborn to go completely digital.
